The Office of Institutional Partnerships (OIP) assists faculty in seeking and securing support for their programs, projects and research from corporate, foundation and association donors. OIP works across the Main, Medical Center and Law campuses at Georgetown University. This includes providing assistance to off-campus academic units such as the School of Continuing Studies.
The scope of OIP support varies depending on the foundation, the grant program, the principal investigator and the submission deadline.
The Office of Institutional Partnerships can:
- Identify and distribute grant opportunities, and coordinate limited submission opportunities
- Augment and strengthen proposals by developing strategy for approaching funders and identifying potential internal foundation and corporate advocates
- Review and edit proposals and budgets and make suggestions from the perspective of a foundation program officer
- Save faculty time and paperwork by contacting foundations/corporations to gauge level of interest and probability of a proposal’s success, providing required documents (e.g., financial statements, IRS 501(c)3 determination letter), conducting donor stewardship, and ensuring that proposal packages are complete and submitted by deadline
